EC3, Erie County Technical School Launch Dual Credit Welding Program for High School Students
Erie County Community College (EC3) and Erie County Technical School (ECTS) are joining forces to offer a new dual credit welding program this fall, giving local high school juniors and seniors a head start toward careers in the skilled trades.
Starting Monday, August 18, eligible students can earn up to 24 college credits through a one-year welding program held at ECTS’ Skill Center (8500 Oliver Road). Students will also earn four industry recognized welding credentials, connecting them directly to in-demand job opportunities.
“This opportunity not only accelerates their career readiness but also significantly reduces the cost and time required to complete a college degree,” said Jennifer Kline, Associate Dean of Academics at EC3.
The program schedule includes two options:
•Morning sessions (8 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.) for high school juniors and seniors
•Afternoon sessions (1 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.) for seniors only
Virtual information sessions are held every Wednesday at 10 a.m. for interested students and families.
