The One Big Beautiful Bill Act's Impact on Energy Prices
National Fuel is expecting energy bills to increase by 12% in the fall and winter months ahead and with the One Big Beautiful Bill Act looking to "eliminate the market distortions and costs imposed on taxpayers by so-called “green” energy subsidies," experts believe prices may stay high for quite some time.
John Rutecki, Regulatory and Legislative Manager of the Environmental Defense Fund (EDF) disagreed with the move and said that the U.S. clean energy market is booming.
Alex Muresianu, Senior Policy Analyst at the Tax Foundation, said that Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) green energy subsidies were flawed to begin with.
Another part of the bill that Rutecki disagreed with is delaying the implementation of a methane waste emissions charge by 10 years.
