Pittsfield, PA - At the Warren County Fair, there’s more than rides, food, and animals — there’s also a chance to step back in time. Dozens of antique tractors are on display, and for the people who brought them here, it’s about more than just machinery.

Outside the Motorsports Arena, more than 80 antique tractors line the fairgrounds, brought in by members of the Brokenstraw Antique Tractor Club. Founded in 1991, the group says for many members, these tractors are the same kind their families used to farm with - and in some cases, still do today.

For them, the club and fair week have become more than a chance for camaraderie, they are also a way to keep history alive.

"I think having the tractors on display is a great thing," stated Brokenstraw Antique Tractor club member, Willis Koren. "Especially for the younger people, and I really enjoy sharing this knowledge with other people."

"I used to do tractor pulls," added fellow member, Karen Barnett. "I did one here and won a second-place trophy. But this really is a family tradition, so to speak, my husband, and daughter in law are involved, everyone is just taking their turns, I guess. We all got into it and went to different places to see tractors and I found a love for them without even trying."

"The camaraderie with this club - the time I have had with these guys is wonderful," commented Randy Wilsie, Brokenstraw Antique Tractor Club member. "You see all these big modern tractors today, but this is a simpler way of life, a slower way - but this is how our families made a living."

The Brokenstraw Antique Tractor Club says preserving these machines means preserving a part of local history — and they plan to keep bringing them back to the fair year after year.

The antique tractor pull will take place Wednesday, August 6th at 6:30 p.m. at the Warren County Fair Motorsports Arena.

The show is included with normal gate admission.
