A 10-year-old boy in the City of Bradford is being hailed as a hero after rescuing his injured mother.

The boy’s mother on Thursday became trapped under an ATV in a remote wooded area with no cell service, police said. Acting quickly, he left her side, navigated through the woods, and reached a nearby home to get help, according to investigators.

Emergency crews from multiple agencies — including the Bradford City Fire and Police Departments — responded. Using specialized equipment, they freed the woman and took her to the hospital for treatment.

Police and fire officials are praising the boy’s quick thinking and bravery, along with the teamwork of all the responders involved.
