Motorcyclist in Critical Condition after Crash in City of Erie
A 21-year-old motorcyclist is in critical condition after an early-morning crash in the City of Erie on Tuesday.
It happened just after midnight on the southbound off-ramp of Interstate 79 at W. 26th St.
Police say the driver was taking a curve too fast, lost control,and slid nearly 150 feet before hitting a guide rail. The impact threw the rider onto the West 26th Street Bridge.
Emergency crews rushed the motorcyclist to UPMC Hamot, where he remains in the ICU with serious injuries.
Police are investigating and have collected crash data from the scene.
