A Serbian student enrolled at an Erie university is facing federal child exploitation charges, according to the U.S. Department of Justice on Tuesday.
Lav Adamov, 20, has been indicted on two countys in Pittsburgh. Prosecutors say Adamov received and possessed material depicting the sexual exploitation of minors between January and May 2025.
He was arrested while in the U.S. on a student visa. The Department of Justice did not specify which university he attends.
If convicted, Adamov could face up to 30 years in prison and $500,000 in fines.
The FBI, Erie Police, and university police investigated the case as part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide effort to combat child exploitation.
