What started as an online gaming session for Nicole Walter and her longtime boyfriend Steve Haight, quickly turned into a lifechanging moment.

"I was pretty calm," said Walter.  "He's the one that almost fell over."

The couple realized they won more than $2 million, through the PA Lottery's Monopoly Progress Jackpots game.

"He was more ecstatic then I was," said Walter.  "I was still kind of leery and I didn't want anything to get me all excited."

For Walter, the win couldn't have come at a better time.

The 42-year-old breast cancer survivor recently completed radiation treatment and also survived a heart attack.

"There were a lot of prayers coming for days before," said Walter.  "Things were looking a little bleak there for a while."

Erie News Now asked the couple how they plan on spending their winnings.

"We are going to invest in more rental properties," said Walter.  "We already have some rental property, so that's what we are going to do, so our investment can keep coming in."

Some of the money will also go towards Walter's 10 grandchildren..

"They are all going to get a little bit in an account and then help the kids out too a little bit." said Walter.

The couple highly recommends taking a chance at playing the lottery online.

"Just play responsibly and just have fun," said Walter.  "You never know what's going to come honestly."
