Work is scheduled to start Monday on a $2 million project to replace the Kane Road Bridge over Brokenstraw Creek in Warren County, according to Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT).

The bridge, built in 1958, has been closed since April after inspectors flagged issues with its wooden deck. Crews will demolish the old structure and construct a new 110-foot, two-lane concrete bridge in 2026. Plans also include paving, drainage improvements, and updated guide rails.

A detour will remain in place during the project, with additional closures expected next year.

Work is fully funded by federal dollars and will be completed by Thomas Construction Inc. of Grove City, with an expected finish date of October 2026.
