Golden globe and academy award winning actor Morgan Freeman has wowed audiences for several generations.
He is coming to the region to share his love of blues.
Freeman will be part of the "Symphonic Blues Experience," an event coming to the Chautauqua Institution on Tuesday, August 19.
Eva Mastromatteo had the chance to interview him exclusively in Erie, about what it involves and it's deep meaning.

The beloved actor is sharing his talents and now love of "blues" in this special tour-
traveling across the country, and world.
It will showcase music from the Mississippi Delta Blues region, where freeman grew up.

Freeman says, "It sort of permeates. It's there."

Orchestras from around America join in with this symphonic tour.
Freeman's visit to the Chautauqua Institution's Amphitheatre will feature the Chautauqua Symphony Orchestra.
Its the third stop in the 2025 tour.
Freeman says, "It's amazing how well it works."

Erie Meier is the president and co-owner of Ground Zero Blues Club in Clarksdale, Mississippi, along with Freeman.

Freeman says, "If you can't come to us, we're going to come to you."

The show, three years in the making, involves three parts:
Meier says, "There's a music performance itself. There's the cinematic narration by Morgan which really tells the story of this music and its evolution, and there's video storytelling accompanying it."
He also says, it may just evoke emotion...

"It's as much an emotional experience as it is entertaining and the key opportunity for us is can we bring that emotion to Chautauqua."

And also - witness an award winning actor in action.
Eva asked Freeman, "How does this rank with your storied acting career,
because music is obviously a huge part of your life, too?"
Freeman answered, "It ranks very high."
