Eisenhower Marching Band Welcomes Youngsville Students, Boosts Lineup

Russell, PA - The Eisenhower Marching Band is bigger than it’s been in years, now boasting more than 40 members. The increase comes after the consolidation of Youngsville Middle High School.
Last year, the band had fewer than 30 members. The addition of new students has brought fresh energy, instruments, and excitement to the program. Students and staff say the transition has been smooth, and the welcoming environment has helped everyone adapt quickly.
“It is a sad thing as to why we came together, " stated Eisenhower Marching Band Director, Mark Napolitan. "But we are making the most of it and the kids are doing an excellent job, they are getting along very well and working very hard. They really are doing an exceptional job."
"Everyone has been very accepting," added former Youngsville band member, Caitlyn Pikna. "It has been a difficult transition, just getting used to everything. But I think that we are starting to mesh well. I am looking forward to playing at football games because I have never played at a game, we didn't have that opportunity at Youngsville."
Band representatives say that having more members will be very beneficial, bringing a fuller sound to performances and a larger impact at community events.
"Our new members have given us a lot more opportunities," said Eisenhower Marching Band Drum Major, Emily Hagadorn. "More space on the field will be filled, and we have more musical instruments that are covered now."
The Eisenhower Marching Band will debut its expanded lineup at a countywide exhibition on August 23rd. The free event, open to the public, will also feature the Warren Marching Band and the Falconer Marching Band from New York.
