Spring Creek Residents Speak Out About Living Conditions
Families at Spring Creek Mobile Home Park, owned by Parkstone Communities, say they’re living in unbearable conditions—and they feel forgotten.
“There are people with no water, people with little to no electricity, and it feels like nobody really cares,” Laurel McLanahan, a resident of the park, said.
McLanahan said she has been living without running water and electricity.
“I’ve been waiting for months for them to come fix it,” she said. “They keep saying they’re coming, and they never show up.”
She said one of the hardest parts has been battling the intense summer heat.
“It’s so hot in some of these places, you can’t even open the windows,” she said.
But electricity isn’t the only problem. McLanahan said the water system has been leaking—or in some homes, not working at all. “Most of the time, the water pressure is so low you pick up the hose and there’s barely any water coming out because there are breaks underground,” she said.
Another resident, Sharon Duffy—a senior citizen who has lived in the park for over 35 years—said she paid out of pocket for a plumber to investigate the ongoing water issues. To her surprise, the plumber discovered the problem wasn’t isolated to her trailer—it was affecting homes across the entire park.
“You can’t cook with the stove, you can’t bathe without boiling water,” McLanahan said.
We have reached out to both the owner and park management—but so far, no response.
