Route 77 in Bloomfield Township, Crawford County, is open again after months of construction, Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced Thursday.

The intersection with Route 8 had been closed since May for a $4 million safety imrpovement project. Crews improved visibility, added a flashing beacon, upgraded drainage, and repaved the area.

While Route 77 is now open, lane restrictions remain on Route 8, with flaggers directing traffic.

Work is set to wrap up by late September.

The nearly $3 million project is funded by state and federal money.
