Dock Diving is Making a Splash in Tidioute

Walt Stover and his dog Millie perform Dock Diving, Tidioute PA
Tidioute, PA - Main Street is making a splash this weekend as professional dock divers and their dogs take center stage in Tidioute.
Tidioute native Walt Stover has partnered with Dawg Gone It, an organization based in Seville, Ohio, to bring the nationally recognized sport to town.
With assistance from the Tidioute Area Fire Department, a pool has been set up along Main Street at the Pennsylvania State Fishing Tournament grounds, offering 15-minute sessions with a professional dock diver, so dog owners can see if their pets enjoy the sport.

"It's a very fun sport and I am happy to be able to introduce it to people here in town," stated Walt Stover, Dock Diving Competitor and Trainer. "A lot of people around Tidioute know my dog Millie but have never seen her perform, so now they can. The try-it sessions that we are holding here are a good place to start - to try it out with somebody who can point you in the right direction and see if it's something you and your dog like."
These sessions all lead up to the main event. On Saturday, August 16th and Sunday, August 17th, more than 10 professional championship dock divers will perform demonstrations at the Pennsylvania State Fishing Tournament grounds. The event is free to the public, and all dogs are welcome.
“We have been pulling some things out of our hat here in Tidioute, and this event is one of them," said Henry Brown, Mayor of Tidioute. "I think that this is great, and it's bringing people into town and hopefully they will enjoy it as much as I have."
Mayor Brown said the event adds something unique to the community’s summer activities. “It’s been a lot of fun for us and our visitors."
