Kane, PA — The Wilds Sonshine Factory is preparing to host its second annual Sunflower Festival Friday, August 22nd through the 24th, at their location along Route 6, following a successful debut that drew more than 6,000 visitors last year.

The festival will feature live music, food vendors, a car and bike cruise-in, magic shows for children, distillery and field tours, and access to the agricultural museum.

Guests will also see the world’s longest table made from a single piece of wood, which is set up for tastings.

Organizers say the event is more than just a celebration. The Wilds Sonshine Factory was built with refurbished Pennsylvania wood and timber from the Allegheny National Forest. Its mission is to highlight Pennsylvania artisans, showcase products made in the state, and create new jobs in the local community.

"We really are all about shining a light on all the resources in our region," stated Taylor McConnell, General Manager of The Wilds Sonshine Factory. "This year we have a new agricultural exhibit. A colossal Black Cherry. It was a log that was down at Sheffield Park and has made its home here at the Wilds Sonshine Factory. It was the world's tallest Black Cherry when it blew down in the tornado of 1985. We have made a whole new enclosure for it and restored the original sign as well. We are excited and happy to have it here."

At it's core, event organizers say that the Sunflower Festival reflects the Factory's mission; to showcase Pennsylvanian artisans, agriculture, and products made in the Commonwealth.

“We really wanted to focus in on the uniqueness of the agricultural innovation that we have developed here, and highlight what can be done locally," said Serrena Conklin, Server at The Wilds Sonshine Factory. "This really is a great opportunity to showcase our resources and get people out and about - trying something new."

The Sunflower Festival will run August 22nd through the 24th, offering family-friendly activities while shining a spotlight on Pennsylvania’s culture and craftsmanship.
