While many Americans celebrate Labor Day as the unofficial end of summer and have that one last hurrah before the weather gets chilly again, the day actually has a much deeper meaning.

Pat Harkins talks about how he went from Teamster to State Representative and why it is important to use the day to honor the American worker.

Harkins said, this Labor Day was special for him, having Republican U.S. Labor Secretary Lori Chavez-DeRemer visit Erie and come together with Democratic representatives, shows unity and a respect for the American worker.
