The ANNA Shelter has been working with local police departments on animal cruelty cases.

Two shelter staff members rescued a dog and a cat that had allegedly been left alone in a bedroom for months.

They were found hiding between the bed and a wall, "in a literal feces and urine-filled prison," a Facebook post said.

A pitbull mix, Mason, weighed 30 pounds. The tabby, Tyson, weighed 3 pounds.

Both animals had to be carried out of the house. They are receiving treatment and will be available for adoption.

Pennsylvania State Police are investigating.
