Warren, PA - The Warren County School District is now into the second week of the 2025–2026 school year.
Superintendent Gary Weber said the opening days went well, with only a few minor transportation issues. He described the first week as a positive start and emphasized that any problems were quickly resolved.
"We had a very minor hiccup involving transportation on our first day back, but we were able to sort it out quickly and the issue was corrected," Weber said. "Outside of that, it's been going very well. The teachers have been fantastic and the positive energy going into the new school year is really strong. We have made some changes that will help teachers in their classrooms and also made some adjustments for students. So far it's been going very well."
Former transportation director and current business services director, Mike Kiehl noted that bus drivers have been working closely with their schedules and are equipped with radios for improved communication. He stressed that children’s safety remains the district’s top priority as transportation operations settle into routine.
"We transport around 3,500 children daily on an average school day so there are a lot of moving pieces," Kiehl explained. "But we have a very good software that we use to track all of our routes to ensure the children's safety as they go to and from school."

This year, Weber is placing a stronger emphasis on communication, not only with students and parents, but also with staff. He has begun releasing regular informational videos that address important topics such as the district’s anti-bullying policy. These videos are intended to keep families informed and engaged throughout the school year.
The next Warren County School Board meeting is scheduled for Monday, September 8th, at 6:00PM at the Warren County Central Office on Market Street.
The meeting is open to the public, giving parents and community members the chance to hear updates directly from district leaders and raise questions or concerns.
