Buffalo Bills Prepare for Prime-Time Week One Matchup Against Baltimore Ravens
ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. (WENY) - The NFL season is officially underway, and the Buffalo Bills are gearing up for a challenging start to their 2025 campaign. In week one, the Bills will face one of their toughest opponents of the season, the Baltimore Ravens, led by star quarterback Lamar Jackson. To add to the intensity, the game will take place in prime time.
Buffalo Bills head coach Sean McDermott emphasized the importance of maintaining perspective, regardless of the outcome of the season opener. "The season isn't decided in week one," McDermott said. "Whether you win those or you come out on the short end, I think it's how you handle that week one performance, good or bad, and what you do as a team going forward and how the team comes together."
For Bills quarterback Josh Allen, the motivation for week one is simple: the opportunity to play the game he loves. "It's an opportunity to go play football and do what we love," Allen shared. "It's a new team. We're both starting 0-0...Sunday night to start the season. That's, I think, enough motivation right there. But it's football. We go actually play against somebody and then show what we got."
The Bills are also looking to redeem themselves after their last meeting with the Ravens in week four of the previous season, a game that saw Baltimore dominate. Veteran linebacker Terrell Bernard reflected on that loss and the mindset the team needs to bring into this matchup. "They got after us the first game, honestly," Bernard admitted. "So we know what this game's going to be. We know the mindset that we have to have coming into this game. And at the end of the day, it's week one. It's going to be what it's going to be."
While the journey to the coveted Lombardi Trophy is just beginning, the Bills understand the significance of starting strong. With week one taking place in front of their home fans at Highmark Stadium for the final time before they move across the street to the new build, the team is eager to make a statement and set the tone for the season.
