The Seneca football community will honor one of its youngest players Saturday.

Hayden O'Conner was killed in an ATV accident in July.

He grew up in Wattsburg and was an 8th-grade football player.

O'Conner was the first to volunteer for the high school team and served as the water boy, Seneca football coach Jack Corey said.

He said it has been hard for the team to cope without O'Conner on the roster, but they plan to honor him by wearing decals on their helmets, taking his jersey out of rotation, and making him honorary captain during their game Saturday.

He said one of the biggest things he has learned is how the community may be small in numbers, but big in support.
