After over a decade of obstacle courses. Saturday was the final Beast on the Bay.

The winner was no stranger to beating the beast. After competing eight times, winning three, and two of them back to back, Chad Gross won the final Beast on the Bay, completing the challenges in just over an hour.

According to Gross, from Cambridge Springs, "I'm going to miss looking forward to it every year. I'm going to miss the running on the sand, the beautiful Lake Erie, it's just and awesome race."

Not only does he love the course, but he also supporting the Barber National Institute. "I love the fact that they have the adaptive course here, it goes to a great cause, nothing I would rather support", said Gross.

John Barber, the President of the Barber National Institute said the support over the years has been incredible. "We have thousands of children and adults every year, who come to us and come to our doors and they get the very best in services that anybody or any place can provide and a lot of that is through the generosity of the people of Northwest Pennsylvania."

The sold out event brought thousands to see if they could beat the beast. According to Barber, "So many people said I always wanted to do the Beast, but never had the chance, but this year I trained and I was going to make sure I did it for the last time. I think it's wonderful."

There were certain obstacles that have been here year after year, but other brand new for the last year.
Barber said while was sad to see the event come to an end, but has loved seeing how much it has grown through the years. "This has turned into everything that we had hoped on the offset. It's turned into a festival and it's a festival of fun and cooperation and everyone is working together", said Barber.

All the money raised from the Barber Beast on the Bay benefits the Barber National Institute.
