A new Dollar General has opened in Erie County. 

The store at 8181 West Avonia Rd in Fairview is now open for business. 

To celebrate, there will be a grand opening event Saturday at 8 a.m. It will include complimentary $10 gift cards to the first 50 adult customers. Dollar General tote bags will be given to the first 100 customers.

The store will employ six to 10 people, the company said. 

Schools, nonprofit organizations and libraries within a 15-mile radius of the store are eligible to apply for Dollar General Literacy Foundation grants.
