Millcreek Neighbors Grieve Loss of Community Cat
A close-knit neighborhood in Millcreek came together today to honor the memory of a beloved four-legged friend who touched the lives of everyone he met.
On Feidler Drive, Stormy the cat wasn’t just a pet—he was a part of the community. For over 13 years, Stormy strolled from house to house, greeting children as they stepped off the school bus, curling up on porches like they were his own, and brightening everyone's day with his presence.
“he was the most amazing thing,” said neighbor Connie Nelson. “Stormy—who I called Loomy—was like the glue of our neighborhood. He kept everyone connected.”
This weekend, heartbreak struck when Stormy was killed in a hit-and-run incident. The tragedy left the entire neighborhood in mourning.
“My sister-in-law saw it on the app and called me,” said Claudia Schneider. “She asked, ‘Have you seen Stormy?’ And I said, ‘No, we haven’t seen him all day,’ which was unusual.”
Neighbors say they're grieving not just the loss of a cat, but of a true community fixture.
“It’s just so sad that this happened to him,” said Connie Nelson. “We miss him dearly.”
Though Stormy is gone, the sense of connection he fostered among the families of Feidler Drive will live on. Residents say he's proof that even the smallest of creatures can leave the biggest mark.
Now, the community is asking for help in locating Stormy’s body so they can give him the proper burial he deserves.
