A Traffic Stop Course For People With Autism

The Autism Society of Northwest Pennsylvania is partnering with law enforcement on a course for drivers with autism.
It is a three-week training to learn how to handle a traffic stop and what to do after an accident.
During the first week, participants and their guardians will be introduced to local law enforcement.
State Police will provide instructions on important documentation and how to interact with law enforcement during traffic stops.
The goal is for people on the spectrum to feel safe and comfortable while interacting with law enforcement.
The program starts Sept. 16. More information is available here.
