A man is dead after he was hit by a crossbow.

Police responded to West 4th St. in Jamestown, Ny. around 5 a.m. Friday for a "suspicious situation," they said.

They found Michael Jaeckle, 62, dead with an apparent injury from a crossbow. 

The suspect is in custody. He has been identified as 58-year-old David Nelson of Jamestown.

He is facing murder and weapons charges.

The Jamestown Police Dept. is being assisted by several agencies, including New York State Police and the Chatauqua County District Attorney's Office.
