The Warriors to Washington group continued their emotional journey in the nation's capital.

The local veterans spent time at the National Archives, standing before the founding documents they once swore to defend. They also gathered at the World War II Memorial, a powerful reminder of sacrifice and service.

The trip included stops at several other landmarks, each moment stirring reflection, pride, and even tears.

Organizers said it's about honoring their service while giving these veterans space to remember, heal, and connect. There were many emotional moments. Meghan Salter said, It means a lot to me, it means a lot to my son, I'm going to start crying, it was a dream for my parents to always come here, and the fact that I can experience this with my son is amazing."

Kane Patrone explained, "There's a lot of us veterans, especially national guard members that have only been to dc for service. We've never been able to be tourist and take a step back so it means the world to us."

Ed Carter said, "I didn't know what to expect until I walked through those arches, I got goose bumps, it gave me chills. It's a teary moment, it's a teary moment to see all this, and to know how many people died for our country."
