At their annual board meeting Monday night, the Board of Directors at WQLN discussed how to move forward after facing a setback.

That setback came back in July when congress voted to rescind federal funding for public media stations, meaning WQLN lost $1.2 million, which makes up 40% of their funding.

WQLN vice president of advancement, Alyson Amendola, called this time, "the most financially challenging time in WQLN's history," and explained that they will be putting the building up for sale.

On top of putting the building up for sale, Amendola said the public is also lending a helping hand.

While the loss of funding makes things difficult for WQLN, Amendola said they are doing their best to make things work and public broadcasting will continue here in Erie.
