A North East School District employee has been placed on leave after a social media post.

The district sent the following statement to Erie News Now:

The North East School District is committed to providing exceptional educational opportunities for every student.  We want to emphasize that the views recently expressed on social media by an employee do not represent the vision, mission, or values of the District.   While the District cannot comment on individual personnel matters, the employee was placed on administrative leave on September 11, 2025, pending further review of the matter and, in compliance with the law.

On Sept. 11, the district issued a statement about a post an employee made on Facebook.

The statement didn't specify what the post was about, but said, "we want to make it clear that the views recently expressed by the employee on social media do not reflect the vision, mission, or values of the North East School District."
