Erie Reporter in Arizona for Kirk Memorial Service
Erie News Now Mickenzie Robson is in Arizona to cover the memorial event for conservative activist Charlie Kirk.
She filed a report Saturday night from the headquarters of Turning Point USA, the non-profit organization in Phoenix founded by Kirk.
People from all over the nation are flocking to the headquarters, leaving memorial tributes, and they plan to attend Sunday's funeral event at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona nearby.
Robson said security has been a top priority for both organizers and law enforcement. Authorities say they have added patrols, security check points and road closures in the area with measures designed to manage the large crowds expected to attend.
Mickenzie talked to people from several states who felt compelled to travel far to attend and share their support for the late Charlie Kirk, his message and his mission.
The service is expected to fill State Farm Stadium, which has a capacity for 64,000 people and there will likely be space for an overflow crowd as well.
There are scheduled remarks from President Donald Trump, Vice President J.D. Vance and Kirk's widow, Erika Kirk, along with other cabinet members.
Mickenzie Robson will file reports from the event on Sunday.
