Police and the Erie County Coroner's office are investigating a fatal motorcycle accident.

It happened just before 8:30 Saturday morning at East High and Main Street in Union City.

According to Erie County Coroner Lyell Cook, the motorcyclist, age 59, was thrown from his motorcycle after colliding with a truck or the mirror of a truck.  The man was thrown and suffered critical injuries.

He was rushed to UPMC Hamot where he underwent surgery.  The victim died from his injuries in the early afternoon hours.

His name has not been released, pending notification of family members.
