In downtown Erie, people gathered in Perry Square for the annual Walk to End Alzheimer's

For many who make this annual walk, the steps are personal.

Shari Robinson, co-owner of Forte Marketing and Mighty Fine Donuts, served as the executive chair of this year's walk. She lost her father to Alzheimer's disease in 2023.

Organizers say this is a pivotal moment in the fight, with treatments that can now change the course of the disease.

Some walked in teams, including several from GECAC, the Greater Erie Community Action Committee.  They walked to support those living with Alzheimer's disease, as well as those helping to care for them, as they interact with many clients and family members facing this challenge.
