Infinite Erie Launches 2026 Playbook

In its third year, Infinite Erie launched their 2026 Playbook to community partners and stakeholders on Monday at the Bayfront Sheraton.
Infinite Erie provided updates about their current projects and what areas they want to tackle next.
Tina Mengine, the President of the Erie County Redevelopment Authority said, "We worked on the Grow Erie project out of Savocchio Park, they were a big catalyst for that we have been working on the Iron Works Square Project on 12th and Cherry and they helped out with that."
One of Infinite Erie's top priorities for the upcoming year is affordable homes. As Kim Thomas, the Executive Director of Infinite Erie explained, "Housing has become a strong focus of the work of Infinite Erie, so working together with all of our neighborhood development partners, working together with the Redevelopment Authority, we have a number of partners and individuals in that housing development specifically, with just a little bit of assistance , additionally capacity, we can focus on what the needs are for accessible and affordable housing, we really think we can accelerate the work that's already happening."
These projects and goals won't get accomplished without teamwork from community partners who all came together during Monday's meeting.
Officials with Infinite Erie already found areas that need immediate attention. As Wyatt Schroeder, the Housing Director for Infinite Erie explained, "We could have a huge impact from 6th and Parade to 10th, that's a huge corridor we want to see a lot more stable housing. We really want to focus on West 8 Street to see what that would look like to help Our West Bayfront and we are really looking at a few other areas as well."
Infinite Erie hopes that by making these improvements, it could draw more people to the City of Erie. "We identified in our analysis that there are a shortage of about 6,000 units in the City of Erie. Those are about 3,000 units that are deeply affordable and about 3,000 units that are work force units for young individuals and young professionals to work here and stay here", explained Schroeder.
