Attorney General Warns of Scams After York Officers Killed

Attorney General Dave Sunday and the Office of the Attorney General’s Bureau of Consumer Protection are warning about possible scams after three Northern York County Regional Police officers were killed last week.
Scammers are looking for current trends and events to take advantage of people, they said.
Officials are encouraging people to do their research before making donations.
“Pennsylvanians are caring and generous people always willing to help in the wake of tragedy,” Attorney General Dave Sunday said. “With so many people seeking ways to help those affected by the horrifying shooting last week in York County, it is important to ensure those charitable donations reach those who need them.”
Scam victims should file a complaint with the Office of the Attorney General’s Bureau of Consumer Protection at this website or by calling 717-787-3391
