Less Than One Month Until Voter Registration Deadline

There is less than one month for eligible voters to register to vote in Pennsylvania.
The voter registration deadline is Oct. 20.
“The races on the ballot in a municipal election may not receive the same attention as a presidential election, but they are important to the everyday lives of Pennsylvanians,” Secretary of the Commonwealth Al Schmidt said. “It only takes a few minutes to register to vote. Once you are registered, you can then exercise your fundamental right to vote and let your voice be heard on Nov. 4.”
Eligible voters can cast a ballot for judicial races and local government positions.
To be eligible to register to vote in the Nov. 4 municipal election, a person must be:
- A U.S. citizen for at least one month before the election
- A resident of the election district in which the person plans to register for at least 30 days before the election
- At least 18 years old on or before Nov. 4
Registered voters can request a mail ballot online. They must be received by a voter's county election board by 5 p.m. Oct. 28.
They must be received by county election offices by 8 p.m. Nov. 4.
