There is a "small number" of COVID-19 cases among residents and staff at The Pennsylvania Soldiers’ and Sailors’ Home in Erie.

Ten residents and two employees have tested positive as of Wednesday, Angela Watson, communications director for the PA Department of Military and Veterans Affairs, said.

The cases were identified through proactive testing after a resident developed symptoms, she said. 

The affected residents are in two nursing care units and one personal care unit. 

Isolation measures are in place. 

Families, residents, staff and regulatory agencies have been informed, Watson said.
