Local Business Heads into Retirement After Nearly Six Decades
For 57 years, Aleks Powersports sold a variety of motorized recreational vehicles.
From boats to motorcycles.
That will come to an end on October 25th.
The family owned and operated business is headed off to retirement.
The four partners, all family members, have decided it "was the right time".
General Manager and partner Mark Aleksandrowicz started working for his father after graduating from Cathedral Prep in 1974.
He told Erie News Now, "we only have a few new items left for sale."
Mark also has to find another location to store equipment and some of his favorite motorcycles.
"Our current building has served as a storage area since 1984. Now we have to find another option."
Their father started the business on a small piece of land in Greene Township in the 1960's.
The business property located on 1501 Peninsula Drive, has been sold to a local resident.
The new owner has not revealed what he will use the space for.
