U.S. Veteran Remembered for Heroic Effort During Reconnaissance Mission
Following High School graduation, Glenn Ames enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps and was honorably discharged in 1961.
He was part of some historic moments in U.S. history.
He took part in a reconnaissance mission of the Bay of Pigs.
In 1963, he became a Police Officer in Washington, D.C.
He retired form Police work due to injuries in the line of duty and had a successful run in the real estate business.
He returned home to the Titusville area for the final 20 years of his life and enjoyed hunting with his younger brother Jim.
Glen Ames passed away just over five years ago at the age of 81.
