Search Continues For 'Suspicious Person' Carrying Weapon in Millcreek
Residents in part of Millcreek were ordered to stay inside Thursday night as police investigated a report of a suspicious person.
The report came in after 8 p.m. Thursday for a suspicious person in the area of the Summit Plaza on Peach St.
The person was described as a younger white adult male carrying what appeared to be an AR-style rifle, police said.
"In an abundance of caution, the Millcreek Police utilized the tools and resources available to us in an attempt to locate and identify this person," Millcreek Police said in a statement.
They said there were no specific threats or criminal activity. Pennsylvania is an open carry state.
The SWAT team and about two dozen police cars were in the area.
The area around the Summit Plaza was searched, but the person was not found.
"Without any further information or reports to act on, the search was concluded," police said.
The investigation is ongoing.
