Its takes a year's worth of planning and over 400 hundred volunteers. The 68th Annual Albion Area Fair officially kicked off Tuesday night with food, games and of course the animals.

"We have a great agricultural fair, that what we're based on," said Vice President of the fair Randy Hites. "We have the pigs, the cows, the horses that everybody likes to see."

The Albion Fair started 68 years ago as a way to show off your livestock. Now, its more about getting the family together and enjoying a night out.

"This is a time for my daughter and I to get together," said Marcy Shaffer of Canesville. "My sister's here, too. We just socialize with everyone and get together with the family."

Organizers says that getting the together family is what this fair is all about. New to this year, as a way to involve the kids, is a junior fair board. This younger generation is helping to continue the fair for many years to come.

The fair runs until Saturday, September 15. For a full list of events, head to www.albionfair.com
