The Erie County Coroner's Office has completed an autopsy on the man who was killed outside a gentlemen's club in Harborcreek Township early Tuesday morning.

Jeremy A. Jones, 33, of McKean, died from a gunshot wound to the abdomen, Erie County Coroner Lyell Cook said Wednesday. His death has been ruled as a homicide.

Investigators have charged Corey R. Kendig, 29, of Erie, with criminal homicide, aggravated assault and four counts of recklessly endangering another person. He was arraigned on the charges and sent to the Erie County Prison without bond.

Troopers were called to Partner's Tavern at 4712 E. Lake Rd. at 1:43 a.m. for a report of a shooting.

Investigators said Kendig left the tavern when multiple men approached and began assaulting him.

He fought back for a short time then pulled out a Sig Sauer P365 9mm handgun and fired a round, hitting Jones, State Police said.

Jones was loaded into an ambulance, and EMS crews started treating him, but he died while the ambulance was still at the scene, according to investigators.

Troopers said Jones was one of four people nearby when Kendig fired the gun.

Anyone with information on the incident is asked to call State Police in Erie at 814-898-1641.
