Millcreek Coffee Brewed from Owner's Longtime Coffee Journey: Giving You the Business
Anita Rose Marcoline has a whole room full of coffee and related products - from the small, one-pot bags to different blends on shelves.
There's even one with her picture on it - The Firebrand - which is her favorite.
Marcoline is the woman behind Millcreek Coffee, which is located on Linden Ave.
"I got really interested in the late 70s when my husband introduced me to what was pour over coffee," said Marcoline.
She sells what you need for one in her store.
"You pour boiling water in the cup," said Marcoline. "It makes one cup of coffee."
It started her coffee journey in 1978.
"I did some research and learned about the office coffee service business, which was really more vital than a little pour over cup of coffee," said Marcoline.
It lead her to open the now former Coffee Mill.
She spent decades promoting coffee, buying and selling businesses. Among them is Cafe Roses, which was in the lobbies of local hospitals.
Marcoline has been the owner of Millcreek Coffee since the early 2000s. It goes hand-in-hand with North Edge Craft Coffee, which is actually housed within the same building.
North Edge is the manufacturer, and Millcreek is the distributor. North Edge provides the beans and is the actual roaster for what you get out of Millcreek Coffee.
Doug Baker is the head roaster who is creating specific coffee for clients and for Millcreek Coffee.
"We can typically go thru 7 to 8 roasts a day, which consists of 20 pounds of roast," said Baker. "Give or take, you're putting about 160 pounds of coffee in a day."
He and others also bag the coffee, which is later delivered the hundreds of restaurants, offices and other businesses in Pennsylvania, Ohio and western New York.
