A woman is dead, and another suffered serious injuries in a crash in North East Township on Sunday, according to Pennsylvania State Police.

It was reported on E. Lake Rd. at the intersection with Gay Rd. around 9:53 a.m.

A Chevrolet Equinox SUV was heading south on Gay Rd., stopped at the intersection with E. Lake Rd. then proceeded through the intersection where it was hit by a RAM truck heading westbound on E. Lake Rd., troopers said.

The truck hit the driver side of the SUV which rolled over and came to a rest on its wheels in the grass, according to investigators.

A passenger - identified as Arlene Semesky, 79, of Webster, N.Y. - died from her injuries at the scene. The driver of the SUV - a 75-year-old woman from Webster, N.Y. - suffered serious injuries and was flown to UPMC Hamot for treatment.

Two other passengers in the SUV went to UPMC Hamot by ambulance for treatment of minor injuries, state police said.

Two boys - 6 and 9 years old - from the truck were taken to UPMC Hamot to be checked out, according to troopers. They were accompanied by the male driver and male passenger of the truck. All four are from Broadway, Va.
