KCT's Power Sports: A Woman-Owned Motorcycle Repair Shop
A new woman-owned repair shop is now open in Millcreek. KCT's Power Sports is located at 1606 Pittsburgh Ave.
The owner, Rebecca Steadman, says that the store is a "one-stop-shop" for motorcyclists. They offer repairs, winter storage and various accessories for sale.
Steadman tells us the store is meant to offer a safe space for women in the motorcycle community.
Steadman proudly printed "woman-owned" on KCT's storefront. So, we asked her what it means to her to be a female business-owner.
"It just means that I have the upper hand in a male run industry," said Steadman. "It's such a hard question when you ask that, because I do get a lot of slack on that."
When KCT's first announced their opening on social media, many people in the community were supportive. However, there were some skeptical if a woman is capable of running a repair shop.
"I run the front of the building, so I'm the face that they see when they come in the door. That's what woman run means to me."
