Winter Fest Held at Chapman State Park in Warren County
Not even the absence of snow could put a damper on this year's annual Warren County Winter Festival at Chapman State Park.
Despite the unusual weather conditions, revelers came out in full force to partake in the festivities.
From the ever-popular Salvation Army’s Polar Bear Plunge to horse drawn carriage rides, residents from Warren County and beyond embraced the spirit of the annual Warren County Winter Fest.
“Over the past few years, we’ve really tried to put things in place, to be able to adapt in case there wasn’t snow," stated John Papalia, Director of Chamber Operations at WCCBI. "This morning there was a group of mountain bikers that came up and rode, we have been doing the carriage rides all day and then the Polar Bear Plunge, and all these things you can do with or without the snow so it’s a great day to come and hangout at the park.”
"The WCCBI does such a great job putting this event on in conjunction with so many people and so many vendors and events here," said John Wortman, Mayor of the City of Warren and Polar Bear Plunge participant. "I encourage everybody to add this to your calendar and make it an event that you want to attend each and every year.”
Although several events had to be canceled due to the lack of snow, event organizers are calling this year's Winter Festival an overwhelming success and are already looking forward to next year.
