City Hall will be closed to the public on Monday, April 8 due to the unprecedented traffic that is anticipated in downtown Erie during the eclipse. 

Essential personnel will be working in the City Hall building, those who are not needed on-site will work remotely. 

Additionally, the City of Erie Police and Fire Departments will open an Emergency Operations Center on April 8 to help coordinate public and fire safety and main communication with the Erie County Emergency Operations Center. 

The Public Works Team will be helping to coordinate street closures, placement of portable toilets and trash cans, along with clean-ups of parks and public spaces in the aftermath of the event.
