French Creek Boy Scouts Donate $10K Worth of Popcorn to Local Veterans

The French Creek Council of the Boy Scouts of America donated more than $10,000 worth of Boy Scout Popcorn to local veterans at the Veterans Hospital in Erie.
The group was able to make the donation thanks to proceeds from their annual fundraiser.
Every year Boy Scouts across the nation sell popcorn as part of their annual fundraiser with an option for their customers to donate to military organizations. This year, the Veterans Hospital in Erie was chosen as the recipient of the donations.
The smiles on the faces of the veterans warmed my heart and brought a tear to my eye,” said Stephanie Jackson, the Senior Membership Executive for The French Creek Council of the Boy Scouts of America. “We collaborated with other councils in the area to be able to combine our resources to make this large donation possible.”
The popcorn fundraiser begins every year in late August and runs through October. Approximately 70 percent of the proceeds stay local to help support families and staff.
