The Bodhi Garden Initiative, along with the Robert Irvine Foundation, will be hosting the 1st annual Veterans Chow Hall on Saturday, March 9.

The event will be held at Voodoo Brewery which is located in the historic Boston Store in downtown Erie.

The goal of the event is to raise awareness for Veteran suicide prevention. According to event organizers, suicide is a public health concern and a leading cause of death in the United States.

In Pennsylvania, suicide ranks among the top 10 causes of death for ages 64 and younger. Veterans may be more susceptible to suicide due to the physical and mental stresses that are common among former and active military.

The event will feature a menu designed by celebrity chef Robert Irvine and will be prepared by U.S. Marine Veteran and chef Shane Cash.

Organizers are inviting individuals to come down and enjoy a feel meal prepared by Chef Cash. The event will also feature speakers, live music, free massages for Veterans and more.

There will be a variety of vendors at the Chow Hall event, and the A.N.N.A. Shelter will also be there with a handful of adoptable dogs.

The Chow Hall will be held at Voodoo Brewery from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday. Doors to the event will open at 10:30 a.m. Those interested in attending should register online

Additionally, Bodhi Gardens announced that free access to the parking garage at 712 Peach St. will be available for attendees. There will be a free shuttle service to and from the garage.

Organizers said to bring your parking ticket to the event for validation.
