Lettie G. Howard will open her 2024 local day sail season Tuesday, June 4, the Flagship Niagara League (FNL) announced Sunday.

Local residents and tourists will be able to enjoy day sail adventures in Presque Isle Bay daily. Trips will board at the foot of Dobbins Landing.

The historic schooner offer a variety of programs ranging from a casual day sail around the Erie bay area to an immersive multi-weeklong sail training experience steeped in regional history.

Lettie G. Howard is one of the last surviving wooden Fredonia style fishing schooners. She was built in Essex, Massachusetts in 1893 and fished off the Northeast Atlantic and Gulf coasts. She arrived at South Street Seaport Museum in New York City in 1968 and was declared a National Historic Landmark in 1989.

Ticket prices are:

  • General Public: Day Sails - $30, Sunset Sails - $40
  • Flagship Niagara League Members: Day Sails - $25, Sunset Sails - $35
  • Children 12 – under $20 for daytime excursions and accompanied by an adult. Day sails are recommended for children rather than sunset sails. Please call the FNL offices for details or clarification.

The Lettie G Howard is owned by the South Street Seaport Museum and is operated as a programmatic collaboration between the South Street Seaport Museum and the Flagship Niagara League.
