Pennsylvania State Police have identified the motorcyclist killed in a crash with a pickup truck Saturday.

It claimed the life of Eugene Ice, 57, of West Springfield.

The crash was reported around 6:25 p.m. on W. Ridge Rd. (Route 20) east of Steinberg Rd.

Ice was heading east when the driver of a Dodge RAM truck truck, heading the opposite direction, turned in front of the motorcycle into the parking lot of the Home Tavern, according to troopers.

The truck hit the motorcycle broadside, throwing the Ice from his Harley-Davidson Roadster, investigators said.

An ambulance took Ice to UPMC Hamot Trauma Center where, according to Erie County Coroner Lyell Cook, he was pronounced dead at 7:36 p.m. from his injuries.

The driver of the truck - a 46-year-old man from Jefferson, Ohio - was not injured, state police said. He was cited for carless driving, according to a news release.

Pennsylvania State Police from the Girard station are handling the investigation.
