The Erie Regional Chamber and Growth Partnership (ERCGP) is hosting the 2025 National Civics Bee. The event will be held at Mercyhurst University's Walker Recital Hall on Wednesday, April 16.

The Civics Bee is organized in partnership with the Civic Trust of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation.

The competition encourages students to deepen their understanding of democracy, engage constructively in their communities, and build trust in civic institutions.

“ERCGP is proud to host this exciting event, welcoming Erie’s youngest and brightest future leaders to a time-honored competition,” said Erie Regional Chamber and Growth Partnership CEO Brandon Mendoza.

This year, over 80 middle school students from public, private, charter and home schools submitted essays. The Civics Bee will feature a live quiz competition, where finalists will showcase their civics knowledge.

The event is free but those interested in attending are asked to register in advance. The Civics Bee will begin at 5 p.m. on Wednesday.
