FOP Lodge Representing Parole Officers Responds to July 2 Shooting in Erie
The Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 92 Labor Services, which represents Pennsylvania state parole officers, is responding to last week’s officer-involved shooting in Erie.
In a statement released Monday, the union emphasized the risks faced by law enforcement and urged the public not to rush to judgment while the investigation continues.
“Pennsylvania’s law enforcement officers risk their lives every day to protect our communities,” the statement reads. “It’s crucial to avoid making snap judgments that could deepen divisions and cause unnecessary heartbreak. As the investigation proceeds, it may uncover details and information that are not currently known.”
The statement also expressed support for the investigative process, adding, “The state police and the district attorney's office should be granted the necessary time and resources to conduct a full and meticulous examination of the facts and circumstances surrounding the events that took place on July 2.”
The shooting remains under investigation by Pennsylvania State Police.
